Skin Beautification

  • It improves sign of photo-aging and photo-damage of the skin
  • It regulates sebaceous secretion especially in mixed and greasy skins

Properties and Advantages

  • It is a rapid depigmentation agent
  • It can be carried out at any time of the year
  • It is suitable for all skin types
  • Sunbathing is permitted without the mark reappearing
  • It is very safe
CONSULTATION
  • A consultation with a doctor is required prior to starting the treatment, so that the pigmentation problem can be diagnosed.
  • Any previous treatments to the affected area must be stopped one week prior to Amelan® treatment.
  • You will be advised about the need to continue with the treatment at home.
TREATMENT

IN THE CLINIC:
The treatment does not produce any type of pain and comprises of the following phases:
  • Cleansing of the skin
  • Application of a degreasing solution
  • Application of a mustard coloured facemask (Amelan®).
  • The doctor will inform you when to remove the face mask – this is normally after approximately 10 hours.

Please note: You will need to leave our clinic with the face mask on, therefore please consider an appropriate mode of transport home.

AT HOME:
The Amelan® treatment is extremely effective but it is important, both for the success of the treatment and for your safety that you adhere to the ‘Home Care Programme’.

  • Once at home, the patient will remove the facemask with water at the time indicated by the doctor
  • After removing the face mask, Hydra-Vital Factor K cream should be applied.
  • After a few days the patient should begin to use Amelan® (aftercare product)
  • The frequency and duration of use of Amelan® will depend on your pigmentation and skin type. This will be advised by the doctor.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENT
The consultation and treatment can be carried out on the same day.
The following symptoms may be experienced during the treatment:

DAY 1 AND 2:

  • REDDENING: The reddening that occurs after Amelan® Treatment is similar to that which appears after a day’s exposure to the sun without protection. (More intense reddening in paler skin types and minimal reddening in olive to darker skin types).
  • Very mild swelling may occur and –if the skin is very sensitive- the patient may also experience an itching feeling. The feeling of heat and tightness on the face is absolutely normal within the first 24-48 hours after treatment.

To relieve any discomfort, Hydra-Vital Factor K cream can be applied whenever necessary.

DAY 3 AND 4

  • FLAKING/PEELING: In all skin types (and more intensely in paler skin), peeling will occur on days 3 and 4. In this case it is advisable to apply the Hydra-Vital Factor K cream, repeating this every two hours when the flaking/peeling is more intense. The use of this siliconed cream dissimulates the ‘peeling’ and makes the skin shine.

DAY 5 ONWARDS
From day 5 the skin will begin to present a healthy and luminous aspect.

MAKE-UP
Make up can be applied from the day following the start of the treatment.

RESULTS
The skin begins to improve one week after starting treatment.
In darker skin types, the mark may begin to disappear after 8-10 days, carrying out the treatment at home, with three application of Amelan®.

On fairer skin, the disappearance of the mark is typically observed within 8-21 days.

In the majority of patients the pigmentation marks improve by 90%. Whilst the mark practically disappears, at times, it may be possible to notice where it was or a slight shadow may even remain.

MAINTENANCE
In order to prevent the mark from being able to reappear, it is important to continue with the treatment at home e.g. applying Amelan® once-twice a week, especially after sun exposure.

It is recommended to continue with the application of Amelan® up to one year after treatment.
